Archaic Glyphs

This is a very good card in multiplayer, 3 times. Or 2 if you pull the tentacle.

What characters can use this well (can buff intellect) and also can recharge this card?

Ursula can regain one charge with eldrich sophist and red clock, but that's expensive in xp and you can only have one clock in your entire deck (also hope you have both other cards available). She can also take Skeleton Key if you've got high shroud locations.

Akachi struggles to get enough intellect to use it well, but can easily recharge it with mystic cards, and starts with one extra charge.

Daisy has a tome that can add one charge per turn (one action for one charge isn't usually good, but she can ignore the action cost once per turn), but is usually too busy using tomes to investigate, and has already spent her resources.

Daisy's mystic splash helps her to recharge the spell and you can use her book action to buff your intellect — Tharzax · 1
I think this card is totally OP combined with higher education to clear most locations of clues in 1 action. It basically means 1 clue costs 1 resource because higher edu gives +2 for 1 and you gain 1 clue per 2 you succeed by. high draw in seeker means you can replay this card when it’s empty (use other arcane asserts to discard this like the one that allows you to draw more cards) — Django · 5142
And tu support Django, not only you can cycle it with fast drawing, but Unearth the Ancients (2) allows you to replace it without loosing tempo. The only thing that I am happy with is that it does not use secrets (otherwise it would have been even stronger), and that it is research, so not Standalone friendly. And as I demonstrated in my latest Daisy deck, I do think indeed that she is an insane user of this card. — Valentin1331 · 77333
I don't understand why this card is forbidden. — elkeinkrad · 500
is -> is not — elkeinkrad · 500
I only tried it once, I was using it in Ursula and managed to get through an entire floor in Depths of Yoth in a single round. Then I realised it was kinda busted and never used it again. — snacc · 1008
It is also really good for Minh: Nullifies her King in Yellow, and she is leaning into oversucceeding anyway with Scavenging. She does not need Higher Education for it. Not saying that is not a great combo, too, but rather for other investigators. — Susumu · 381
I tried it once and my experience was more a mehh. You can clear a location with enough resources to back your intellect. So if you have no way to get some without actions this card loose much of its efficiency and I rather stick to a mystic with a rite of seeking who just need to pass for 3 clues and not beat a shroud by 4. — Tharzax · 1
In Pursuit of the Beyond

When going for R3 Heretics doesn't end in the victory pile, meaning are still 0 but you won't earn any xp from them.

A quick houserule would be considering Heretics under the act as if they were in the victory display. One could also count those under Erynn for the in order to spice things a little.

Signum Crucis

This card may interact very interestingly with the sorta newly added card Burn After Reading with the latest taboo. Since the cost to re-aquire the card now is 0 but the card still is considered level two for any other purpose this card can now make the doom removal of Burn After Reading possible without spending other xp than the one on Burn After Reading.

It probably wont create huge ripples in and of itself, but it may lead to exile decks using Burn After Reading coming online a bit earlier or making the cost of the combo a lot cheaper xp-wise.

The cost to reacquire this if exiled isn't 0, its 1. This is because the exile rules only let you add *level* 0 cards to your deck for free to make up the numbers. If you want to add a level 2 card that costs -2 xp you are still beholden to the "minimum 1 xp" but with deja vu you could easily make that 0 — NarkasisBroon · 10

@NarkasisBroon I'm not sure about having you to pay 1xp. Nothing forbids you from completing the 30 deck size with lvl0 cards first, and then, afterwards, proceed to the upgrades, thus, changing any level 0 card (maybe the new additions) for Signum crucis lvl2 for 0xp. — joster · 77
@joster that would still cost you 1 exp, as exchanging a lvl 0 card with a different lvl 0 card costs 1 exp. if you didn't purchase adaptable first. — difra · 1
Solemn Vow

Funnily enough, the best investigator to place this on might be another Guardian.

It can move damage and horror from any card. That means it can heal your beat cops, guard dogs, Grete Wagner and Agency Backup forever as a free, 0 cost action. Infinite beat cops!

The icons are also fantastic for Well Prepared.

You need a very specific team composition to make this work but I have been loving playing Calvin Wright and playing this on my friend Leo Anderson. The ability to keep all those allies working forever is amazing.

Uncage the Soul

Extremely powerful card. For 3xp your Uncage the Soul gains the option to become

  • Recharge for spell and ritual assets in play
  • A Chance Encounter for spell and ritual assets already in your discard pile
  • Eidetic Memory for spell and ritual events in your discard (that also doesn't remove from game)

And retains the 3 resource discount on top of each of these modes!

Combine with a Double, Double and Farsight (which are also both rituals) to play two fast Storm of Spirits from your discard pile for free.

Also one of the commit symbols turns into a , but if you end up committing this card to a test you are very disappointed in the value lost.

I agree about this being a Recharge for Spell and Ritual assets. And it would be cool to combine Uncage the Soul (3) with Double, Double or Farsight, but those are level 4 cards that aren't Mystic so I don't think there are any investigators that can take both this and those. — waltercardcollector · 11
EDIT: And a risk-free Recharge at that. It can't overcharge your assets like Recharge can, but you always get to refill it back up to its starting uses, which is usually 3 or more anyway. — waltercardcollector · 11
There is Suzi that can do it. — Crazly · 184
recently ran this card alongside Astronomical Atlas, where the will to wild addon ended up being a huge benefit. It freed up eligible tests I could commit to for getting the Uncage into hand — mordequess · 88
