All Mystics have the same deck? And they use for everything? Let's see about that!

About Four Mystics - One Collection

This is a series of four standalone 29XP Mystic decks all made from a single (complete) collection. The decks are constructed in such a way that they can be played together as one happy team. Though you can play them in other team compositions as well; the main fun and challenge was in creating four decks without overlapping cards.

The team consists of all 5/2 Mystics:

Diana Stanley , see decklist here

Luke Robinson , see decklist here

Dexter Drake

Agnes Baker , see decklist here

Dirty Dexter

Evade enemies using (preferably) Blur , triggering many , most importantly cards like .25 Automatic•• and Dirty Fighting •• to shoot a ton of times, and still have an entire turn's worth of actions left. This deck is meant to be the flex-fighter of a 3-4 player team. It takes some XP and setup, but is really fun once it gets going.

Piloting the deck

This is an Underworld Market •• deck, so you'll have an assortment of 10 Illicit cards to choose over the course of the game.

Dirty Fighting •• is the most important one. Whenever you've evaded an enemy using Mists of R'lyeh ••, or, preferably, Blur, you get a fight action to take against the enemy, plus your gets boosted to a respectable 7 when you're shooting a gun. Because the timing of Mists of R'lyeh •• is the same as for Dirty Fighting ••, you can choose to first shoot and then move out. Blur on the other hand, gives you an extra action to spend on whatever you want after succeeding on the evasion. For example, more shooting the enemy you just evaded!

Speaking of Firearms, I opted for .25 Automatic ••, because of it's ability synergizing well with the deck, as it allows for even more shooting off of your Evade action. The Mauser C96 •• just has a lot of ammo, plus it's ability to give resources helps Dexter to keep playing his assets throughout the scenario.

On the economy department, there's Pickpocketing •• and "I'll take that!", to profit off-of evasion even more. If there's not many Humanoid enemies around, you can always trigger "I'll take that!" off of Investigate actions with Sixth Sense. Pay Day can be a nice end of a 5-action turn where you've been granted actions from Dirty Fighting •• and Blur , or even 6-action turn if you've managed to also succeed by 2 while committing Quick Thinking. Unfortunately, unless I'm wrong, the from .25 Automatic •• does not count as an action spent under the latest taboo for Pay Day.

As for the cards in your regular deck, as I mentioned your Evade spells are very important for this deck to function. You can find them with Arcane Initiate, before you change them magically into, for instance, a gun, or Molly Maxwell.

Once you're set up you'll have a ton of draw from Pickpocketing •• and Lucky Cigarette Case

On the resource department, there is David Renfield, Lone Wolf, Faustian Bargain, Uncage the Soul and, if you're feeling lucky: "Watch this!".

Further boosts to for fighting and for evasion you will get through Cat Mask, which you can recharge through David Renfield, Arcane Initiate and Blood Pact, the latter being itself a boost to either or both skills that you can replace by something else later through Dexter's ability. Showmanship also provides a boost the turn you get a gun or evasion spell into play.

Sleight of Hand and Swift Reload are cards that help you get more mileage out of your guns. The former also synergizes really well with Showmanship. Lastly there's Overpower for the extra bump when you need it.

Alternatives

You can always pick alternatives for the Evade and Investigate spells based on what you fancy. An argument could be made that you can use up an Investigate spell with charges and then use Dexter's ability.

Some other interesting Firearms to consider are .41 Derringer •• for even more actions if you succeed by 3 using your many boosts, Colt Vest Pocket ••,to shoot a ton of times in one round and then replace it with something else using your , or even the Old Shotgun •• to put into play using Sleight of Hand or "I'll take that!" if you're into a more janky style. Or, depending on the campaign, British Bull Dog •• for ignoring Aloof.
