Introduction

Tony is a very strong fighter. His 5 combined with his Ability and the Bounty Contracts, he is also very efficient, because he gets extra actions and resources without any additional set up.

In fact Tony is so strong at fighting, that he does not need many cards to support his fighting abilites and can instead focus a huge part of his deck to improve on other areas.

Since Tony gets of course paid for his job (which is killing people), the big money archetype seems a natural fit, making Tony a very strong and flexible investigator. With some key assets in play, his statline can be really impressive, letting him get clues with ease and also making him very robust against the mythos deck and random tests the game may throw at him.

Big Money Synergies

The main idea of this deck is, while still beeing able to fight efficiently, to accumulate heaps of money to profit from

With 10 resources and Dario in play, Tony can get some clues with a respectable 4 . The boost to 3 is also very appreciated, making him less vulnerable against the mythos deck.

With Well Connected and some money in play, Tony can pretty much succeed at any test, making him a very flexibel investigator. If we can not find Well Connected or for very crucial tests, Money Talks has our backs.

In order to earn the resources to make our pay off cards work, we run

If we dont need our actions and Dario El-Amin is in play, he can also accelerate our resource generation.

Other Card Choices

In order to fight we run Knuckleduster besides our .38 Long Colts. With 5 we should be good against the majority of enemies we encounter in the early scenarios. As support we also have

  • Daring which has no drawback when used with the Knuckleduster, provides a very nice boost of 3 and replaces itself, as well as
  • Vicious Blow for beefy enemies.

Dont forget that Well Connected can also boost our !

For crucial tests Take the Initiative can be a real game changer, letting us for example test with 6 .

Since Tony comes with only 5 Sanity, Smoking Pipe is here to let us heal some sanity damage. The damage taken in the process can then be healed with Second Wind (if possible ofter a treachey was drawn), while also providing an additional card.

To increase the consistency, Backpack lets us search for our weapons and can also find Emergency Cache. For additional draw, we also run Lucky Cigarette Case.

Core Upgrades

Tony wants to fight. Therefore our top priority is to improve our fighting capabilities. In order to perform a little bit better i like to upgrade

first. A reliable Knuckleduster lets us attack with 6 and 2 damage. The next update can either be

to get rid of the constant threat of retaliation, or, if you are fine with the Knuckleduster for another scenario,

In our big money deck, the Loan has no drawback and improves our Well Connected instantly to a +2, making it way better than Lone Wolf. The 10 resouces from the Loan do also bring Dario online.

The next upgrade path is also dependant on personal preferences. I like to upgrade

first, before i invest into our last core asset, which will be

The fan is simply amazing in this deck, because you want to have a huge amount of money all the time. While +1 Health / Sanity is not impressive, at only 15 resources we will get a free action every turn. If we reach 20 resources, which should be easy to reach, our complete statline will also be boosted. Together with Dario, we will be sitting at

4 5 6 3

Since our weapons only need 1 hand slot, we can equip the Fan without running into issues.

The total cost for the core upgrade is "only" 24 experience, giving us plenty of room to grow from here.

Optional Upgrades

After the core upgrade, there are many possible options that can be taken. Some cards to consider are

  • Ever Vigilant (1) can lead to really explosive turns if you have the right cards in hand.

  • Extra Ammunition (1) can also be nice to make our Long Colts last longer which will lead to more bounties.

  • Lucky Cigarette Case (3) is a nice upgrade to have and to increase the card draw of the deck.

  • The Red Clock (2) and The Red Clock (5) are really nice in this deck but a bit expensive.

  • Charon's Obol (1) is always nice, if you are willing to take the risk. If this route is chosen, it should be the very first upgrade.

  • Emergency Cache (2) is nice for the integrated card draw. This should only be taken if there are no other upgrades left.

  • Money Talks (2) can help other investigators and does also replace itself, making it a valuable upgrade.

  • Well Connected (3) is of course also a very nice upgrade but not required. Sometimes the two resources to ready Well Connected are very well spent.

  • Liquid Courage (1) can replace the Smoking Pipe if additional healing is needed.
