Mark Harrigan looked around, what else could be useful for his upcoming journey? His kit was already packed like it was overseas: Some bandages and supplies, his trusted service pistol as well as this strange sabre the German officer gave him after he saved him from one of those creatures. The blade seem to cut through those monsters with special ease and after killing them his mind filled with righteous peace. Mark added the revolvers he purchased earlier “’You can’t have enough firepower out, if things got dense’”, he cited his sarge with a grim smile. “That thick bastard sure knew what he was talking about.” If he could only get his hands on one of those light machine guns that served them so well during the Meuse-Argonne offensive.
The picture of his beloved Sophie was in his chest pocket ever since that dreadful day, so he will forever remember why he is fighting on. Another look around. A flashlight? Why not, one could never know what lies ahead. Charlie, the dog he bought Sophie before he left to fight overseas, watches every move of his master – good dog. A final look, it seems like he is prepared for the worse. The people around think he is crazy, and maybe he is. But he has allies and there are others who believe him and are equally eager to cleanse the earth from its horrors. As he left his home – probably forever – Mark swore he will not let them face the same fate has his beloved Sophie.

This Mark Harrigan build is designed for some four player fun from Carcosa to whatever lies ahead. He will team up with Jenny Barnes, "Ashcan" Pete and Akachi Onyele, so we are quite a versatile group. Marks job is of course to kill monsters and to keep his teammates (and himself) alive. But with Scene of the Crime and a copy of Flashlight Mark should be able to deliver his share of clues if necessary.

This deck might not be opted for the last bit but is thematically consistent and versatile. As for upgrades I will start with updating one of the .32 Colt to solve the ammo issue Mark might face, followed by one Beat Cop, Charisma and Brother Xavier (for Guard Dog). Next will be Stick to the Plan (with Prepared for the Worst, Act of Desperation and Ever Vigilant under it), Ever Vigilant (for one Dodge), second Beat Cop 2, 2x Stand Together (for Emergency Cache) and 2x Vicious Blow 2.

Last will be a run for a bigger gun. I think the M1918 BAR fits thematically very well and with Versatile (to get Hands on Contraband, Bandolier, Well-Maintained, a 2nd copy of "Eat lead!" and a 2nd Ever Vigilant (to pay for all this)) this deck could play out quite nicely, while not sacrificing its versatility (pun not intended). Because of Stick to the Plan and Marks superb card drawing, the drawback of the bigger deck - to me - is very minor.

Any remaining XP can then be spent to upgrade First Aid, .32 Colt and Enchanted Blade. Then 1x "I've had worse…" (for Dodge), Safeguard (for Shortcut) and Keen Eye
