Introduction

There is nothing that can run after Rita. Rita is the king of mobillity and is as slippery as her picture suggest. When maneuvering through the jungle or ancient ruins, every team is happy to have a capable Swift member. Sometimes she is "I'm done runnin'!" when facing her foes from the Hoods or other monsters.

You are not very versitale, but very good in your specific area. I do not think Rita can do a good Expert Solo run, but if you want to try, you might want to think about: Belly of the Beast and Newspaper

This is a variation of the deck I used in our High vengeance Expert TFA run, where we successfully finished "Shattered Aeons". With here were Daisy Walker and Leo Anderson

Rita

Roles and Goals of Rita

Your job is it, to make sure your clue-gatherers can use most of their actions to gather clues and as little as possible handling enemies. Your turns will often feature an evade and an engage action, so you need to find windows to play your assets.

With your mobility you might also get that small objective out of reach for the other players. Ideally your team can handle what comes at them in the meantime.

Your big advantage over a guardian is, that you can deal with enemies that grown on fight, and with 5 agi, you are basically ready to impact the game without needing to draw weapons or specific cards.

Pros and Cons

  • + Highest evade value in the game
  • + Deal out damage while evading
  • + Built in and very high mobillity
  • - Horrible clue gathering potential
  • - Very limited Cardpool
  • - Very low sanity I use Desperate cards to use this fact
  • - Uses quit some actions to just engage

Card Selections

Core: This are cards that belong in any Rita Deck. Some basic good survivor cards and ensuring you can do your job

Tech:

  • Cheap Shot Chance for an 8 attack for occasions needed. (can deal 2 damage and evade)
  • Perseverance Willpower pips and last insurance
  • Flashlight This is just for the start, as your seeker needs help getting clues in scenario 1
  • Meat Cleaver I use it as an additional way to deal with enemies, if time is short and to enable the desperate skill cards. It worked out decently, not a big fan on expert
  • Reckless Assault Enable with Cleaver and profit
  • Run For Your Life Enable with Cleaver and profit
  • Cherished Keepsake Protect your 5 sanity

Upgrades

Priority 1:

  • 1x Ornate Bow Can replace Flashlights, you do not want to fight often, but sometimes 3 damage with a 7+ Fight does a lot on expert. 2nd bow is solid but not a priority
  • 2x Peter Sylvestre More soak and makes you less vurnable to some Treacheries
  • 2x Close Call Fantastic card, get rid of some annoying folks with one action.
  • 2x Survival Instinct Replace Manual Dexterity or Run For Your Life. This make swarmy scenarios that much easier to handle

Priority 2: All solid cards, replace your Hand assets and skill cards mostly. You can go your favorite survivor cards, as there is nothing more I think synergizes especially good with Rita here.

Changes

After finishing the TFA run, those were the changes I did:

Reasons:

  • Stunning Blow does not raise my Fight value to an expert relevant level, and evade boost helped
  • Belly of the Beast just had no impact in 3 players
  • Drawing Thin, is the better ressource card overall. I found myself often having a Emergency cache in hand, or needing a second

This deck looks really powerful and clean. Do you have any Investigator recommendations to pair with Rita?

So if we talk about pairing on expert (meaning duo), you need to bring someone who is good in getting clues.

Which in duo means, mostly Finn or a Seeker. I think Id personally go with Daisy, with the highest int and abillity to take Higher education, which Norman cannot. Joe + Rita have almost no sanity combined. Rex is obviously good.

In 3/4 player you need a seeker, and for 3/4 player expert you should go with Daisy or Rex. Also Rita cannot deal with all enemies on her own, so you need either a high-damage dealer or Hybrid.

You are welcome, I wonder how I would build it with the newest cards :)
