1 Core + Dunwich Series: Jenny (w Stella Clark) | 3 | 3 | 0 | 1.0 |

This deck is part of a series provided for people who have only a single core set & the Dunwich expansions. The rationale is that most of the decks on this site assume 2 core sets. If you have just 1 core set, you don't have much freedom in your deck, so there is not much point in publishing specialty decks. But if you have 1 core + Dunwich, you have some freedom in deck construction but not a lot of guidance.
I've marked this as Solo, but Jenny can also play most other investigators.
The idea behind this deck is to build up a ton of resources and find your pistols early using Prepared for the Worst. You have 2 Emergency Cache and 2 Lone Wolf, and Jenny's special ability, so you should have a ton of resources. Bring out the pistols as soon as you can using Prepared for the Worst and then double up the resources with Contraband.
In your very first adventure, you may be a little low on clue finding until you get Arcane Studies, Leo De Luca, or Dr. Milan Christopher. Once you get any of those three, you should be okay [Leo helps by giving you an extra investigation try every turn]. There isn't much to be done about it since Jenny's pistols are two-handed. The good news is that once you finish your first scenario you can buy Streetwise and then your clue-finding ability is permanently built in.
Adaptable is quite useful for Jenny because your power ups will let you switch out your splash cards.
Once you get Streetwise TOP PRIORITY, you can switch out Arcane Studies for any of several other useful cards (Holy Rosary or Ward of Protection are almost always good choices)
Once you get at least 1 Switchblade you can consider switching out your Machete for some other useful splash card.
Once you get a second Switchblade you can switch out one of your Prepared for the Worst as well, because your switchblades are pretty awesome in their own right. At that point it is less important that you have money to bring out your pistols, so you can consider other high-cost options, like Dynamite Blast. But then you no longer have as much need for Contraband, so you can switch it out as well.

May 13, 2017Yes u right. Thank u bro :) |
May 13, 2017Thank you for this. Question, until I find a 2nd core set (sold out everywhere), is it possible to create two of your dicks with a single core plus all Dunwich stuff so far? |
May 14, 2017Not necessarily but I did create these with that in mind so that there should not be too much overlap. For example, in most cases I try not to use the full set of neutral skill cards [Overpower, Manual Dexterity, Guts, Perception, Unexpected Courage). The Jenny deck has 5 of those 10, and that is typically what I put in. So if you take 2 investigators who do not directly clash because of color clash, you should see a minimum of overlap. And you can adjust accordingly. |
May 14, 2017Sweet, thanks. Also, I just noticed my unfortunate typo. |
May 15, 2017An interesting series. I can't say I like the Jenny's Twin .45s + Contraband combo. What's the point? If Jenny's Twin .45s starts in play with 5 or fewer resources on it, playing Contraband on it is no more efficient than if you just spent more money on .45s in the first place. If the .45s are coming into play with 6+ resources on them, sure, you're starting to see some benefit from Contraband. But is it really meaningful? You can put the twin .45s into play with, say, 7 resources on them and then play Contraband for 4 more resources to get to 14 ammo. But really, you could have just put those 11 resources directly into the twin .45s for 11 ammo, which is going to be plenty in the vast majority of circumstances. And cutting Contraband from the deck frees up some card slots (maybe for a second Guts and Unexpected Courage.) |
May 15, 2017First, let me mention that I'm not going to try too hard to defend contraband. It is not a great card---it is not even a good one. But there are a few points here that bear mention.
That is just a single instance, but in general I think it is fair to say there is value in being able to put your pistols out a bit earlier knowing you can rectify the situation later. I do not play Contraband in the 2 Core Set Jenny deck though. I'm not trying to say it is exceedingly good... but pickin's are just pretty slim for Jenny in a 1 Core + 1 Dunwich card pool, and it has decent skill icons. |
May 15, 2017Ah, that makes sense about the skill cards. Fair enough! |
Apr 08, 2020Can you elaborate how to develop and upgrade this deck after getting dynamite, second switchblade and getting rid of machete. I just finished second scenario with it and I have 6 spare xp and I wish to try this deck further to play all through Dunwich cycle on hard. Thanks in advance. |
Apr 15, 2020Hotstreak(4), Cat Burglar or Leo(1) are good choices. |
Lone wolf has limit one per investigator.
