Introduction

Creating a Silas Marsh deck with all available campaigns (up to Hemlock) to make a blind run of "The Innsmouth Conspiracy".

Overview:

Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆
Enemy Management: ★★★★★
Clue-getting: ★★☆☆☆
Encounter protection: ★★★★☆
Survivability: ★★★★☆
Economy: ★★★★☆
Card Drawing: ★★★★★

Main Strategy:
  • Fight: Destroy them using your with the Sea Change Harpoon and return the used skill cards to your hand. Use Strong-Armed to cancel Chaos tokens until you get the one you need and inflict one more damage. You can also use Brute Force to fight with 4(Base) + 1(Jessica Hyde) + 3(Brute Force)= 8 to inflict easily 3 points of damage. You can also use Ice Pick to get +1 and +1 damage and return it to your hand using Resourceful

  • Evade: Evade enemies using Silas's Net or commiting Stunning Blow to a fight test.

  • Move: Use Track Shoes to move faster to hunt down enemies.

  • Resources: Since in most combat tests you will go 6 over the enemy's combat value, use Drawing Thin to gain 2 (4 if you have both) resources and to be able to pay the Sea Change Harpoon or the Silas's Net constantly.

  • Mythos Phase: Use Sparrow Mask, Fearless and Nautical Prowess to deal with the tests during mythos phase. Your highest priority is to avoid tests that cause you horror, since Silas Marsh only has 5 horror points. If you fail any test, you have cards such as Plucky, Jessica Hyde and Precious Memento to which you can assign damage and horror. Remember that, after you reveal a chaos token during a skill test you are performing: Return a skill you committed to this test to your hand (limit once per round), so you can return a skill card to your had so you can use it in the next mythos phase if needed. Cards such as Nautical Prowess or Unrelenting can save your ass.

  • Drawing Cards: You have many cards that allow you to draw, and since you will probably end up with your hand full of skill cards I have decided to include Versatile so you include the Dream-Enhancing Serum in the deck, which will not only allow you to draw more, but only the first copy of each card in your hand counts toward your maximum hand size.

  • Play for Fun: Initially I included the Hatchet to be able to do two initial damage for free (since you use your plus ) and then finish off with the Sea Change Harpoon, although I changed to the Ice Pick since you depend a lot on the life of the enemies. I also included the card Observed, which allows you to play with a tarot card. I use it because I had plenty of experience and I find the artwork of tarot cards beautiful.
