“Behind every successful fortune there is a crime.” — Mario Puzo, The Godfather

POV:

You love decimating your ennemies, one gun in each hand, while your best pal is lockpicking the bank around the corner.

Overview

| Difficulty:||★★★☆☆ - It's a pretty straightforward deck, but you need a good setup and some gun managment in order to make the most of it.

| Enemy Management:||★★★★★ - With so many weapons, a base 5 in combat, plus free combat actions, most of your fights will be very short.

| Clue-getting:||★★★☆☆ - The main weakness of the deck without the Lockpicks + Trigger Man combo.

| Encounter protection:||★★★☆☆ - Some skills like « Regardez ça ! », Maîtrise ou Cran will help. is less often tested by encounter cards so you are generally fine.

| Survivability:||★★★★☆ - 5 sanity is dangerous so having allies around is key. Lonnie + jacket is a good soak engine.

| Economy:||★★★★★ - You might get a lot of spare resources by the end of each scenario. That's why Treasure is interesting.

| Card Drawing:||★★★★☆ - Your deck is small and you often cycle through once if not twice per game.

This deck was able to beat The Web of Dreams campaign with a total of twenty experience points. It completely crushed the last scenario, despite having lost the 1st scenario and having lots of doom on locations.

Core strategy

Your goal is to have Tueur à Gages out with Outils de Crochetage attached on it as soon as possible. You have a thiner deck (thanks to Soutien de la Pègre), so hard mulligan for those cards or the tutors that will help you find them. Sac à Dos helps you with the Outils de Crochetage while Demander un Service is great to replace an injured ally with Tueur à Gages for a discount. Drawing lost of cards with the help of « Vous Venez Pour la Fête ? », Robert Castaigne, Étui à Cigarettes Porte-Bonheur will also boost your chances to find the pieces.

With Trigger Man in play and lock-picks attached, you’ll be pretty much setup, with a investigation action each turn with at 7 (base 4 + your agility), which is already pretty descent.

The rest of the deck is pretty standard for a rogue, with an enphasis on combat and destruction. Handle the enemies with your guns, don't hesitat to discard them with Robert Castaigne if you can't play them as drawing is very good.

Upgrade Path Suggestions

Here are priorities:

  1. Outils de Crochetage — Get the best version as fast as possible so your investigations are less risky.

  2. Charisme (3 XP) This will help a lot with tanking horror/damage and with tests with the stat bonuses on Robert Castaigne/Lonnie Rittner.

  3. Receleur is very good since it will let you play most of you guns fast, allowing you to trigger Remington Modèle 1858 during your turn for exemple. It also helps playing Michael's signature faster.

  4. Better guns such as Remington Modèle 1858/Derringer .18 if you need extra combat.

  5. Dakota Garofalo is very good in Monster-based campaigns. If you lack tempo, she's quite strong too with her move+engage ability. Great solution for Distant enemies.

  6. Sac à Dos if you need a stronger way to dig for your key pieces.
