A simple Roland Banks deck design to teach your friends how to play arkham Meant for 2-3 players in the game

Are there better cards for this deck? Yes but this deck is straight forward in how it plays. The majority of cards have clear effects and all play towards one unified whole of a deck. It also doesn't require a diverse card pool with most of the cards being in core dunwich and PtC, with there being replacements for those found outside of those lists.

Roland is a good starter investigator as he is able to both fight and clue gather meaning that you are never useless in a pinch.

It is a solid mix of Assets events and skills to cover all of the play areas. The 7 weapons make it easy to have something to fight with both of the allies offer good soak and help in combat. The addition of the Magnifying Glass help reinforce the general theme of the deck and helps demonstrate the importance of managing your hand slots. The events all have clear timings as due the skills chosen with the only iffy one being Inspiring Presence which could be dropped for a shortcut if wanted.

This deck is designed with 3 parts in mind. The first is taking advantage of Roland's Ability to get clues, with Evidence! and Scene of the Crime providing more clues and On the Hunt getting more enemies in play. Inquiring Mind also encourages the pursuit of clues.

The second is staying alive with Logical Reasoning multiple allies Beat Cop Guard Dog and one copy of Inspiring Presence to help stay healthy.

The third is to protect teammates. The only card to encourage this is Stand Together but that is something that is better shown in game, If using this deck with a friend I would suggest playing a full clue getter like Trish or Rex to encourage this. You also can swap out Glory/Enchanted Blade for
"Let me handle this!" if you want which also helps getting clues by being able to aggro enemies.

Upgrades are cheap and simple as this is meant for Night of the Zealot, get better beat cops or guard dogs, and then better guns with skills and maybe stand together being things to pick up with leftover XP. Charisma is also an option if you want, but that is adding more elements to the pot that might not be needing.

Side deck is short list of upgrades and potential swap ins for 0 xp if you want to tweak the deck to what you want before you play.

If you lack the Nat Cho starter deck then add Emergency Cache and Prepared for the Worst for economy and card finding and as stated Enchanted blade could be swapped out for Shortcut/Fieldwork/""Let me handle this!"" if you don't have Dream Eaters cards. Scene of the Crime can be exchanged as well for any of the above cards if you lack FA

I would not recommend this unless you have both Dunwich and PtC thou as both of those have some key cards to making the deck work.
