Dexter attempts the most difficult trick: make Mind's Eye work!
Dexter can reload the Eye with his ability for two resources getting one more charge on it compared to the on the card itself, and sometimes that one charge can make the difference. In addition there is a nice synergy between Pole's bonuses and the two arcane slots the Eye occupies.
Ideal board state
This means that Dexter can
- fight with 7 and +1 damage
- investigate with 7
- do everything else (at least three times..) with 7
Signatures
This probably works fine with Showmanship too, but the replacement signature Molly Maxwell is better. Molly enables Dexter to always to find the missing piece; Dragon Pole is a the only weapon, Crystal Pendulum is the the only charm, Blood Pact is the only pact etc. Unfortunately Mind's Eye and Living Ink both are rituals...
Updates
The deck rolls very well already at 9xp, but next updates could be (not in priority order):
- Sixth Sense -> Sixth Sense (4)
- Living Ink, add "Subtle Depiction" (1xp) and "Vibrancy" (3xp)
- Mists of R'lyeh -> Blur (1) , or if you want to go wild try Close the Circle (1)!
For level 0 deck, in additional to removing False Covenant and ticks from Living Ink:
- Mind's Eye -> 2 x investigation spell (like Clairvoyance) and an Obfuscation
- David Renfield -> Gregory Gry (or just ignore the taboo XP increase for David)
