Trying to build a Dark Horse Lola to take on Carcosa together with Minh Thi Phanh, Akachi Onyele and Mark Harrigan.
Majority of the cards are grey to work at all times. All red cards are assets that give passive boost (except Peter Sylvestre's self-healing) Will try to stay as Rogue or Seeker as much as possible since those cards are events or skills, so only the Magnifying Glass is at risk for Crisis of Identity. Most cards are quite cheap to work with Dark Horse, the Emergency Cache and Improvisation will hopefully give the resources she needs. Goal is to have Dark Horse + Peter or Rosary in play to give her 4 - 5 on all stats, and then have many grey or green boosts to take on most medium difficulty challenges, and leave the heavy lifting to the others. Will it be enough, will she be of any use?!
With XP I'm thinking of Lupara + Sleight of Hand and upgraded Peter Sylvestre and maybe Key of Ys.

May 11, 2018Interesting deck, kind of odd though. I don't agree with Holy Rosary because most tests are revelation effects on encounter cards, so it's very rare that an increase to that stat would aid your team in any way. Additionally, while Peter Sylvestre is crazy good, you would have to be in the Survivor role at the end of your turn to trigger his self-heal ability, which clashes with your plan of staying Rogue or Seeker most of the time and opens him up to Crisis of Identity. Since she's 4's across the board just with Dark Horse, I think you could include some cheap weapons (Machete, Survival Knife maybe) so that she can investigate and fight, even if she doesn't hit that often. I would suggest the Guardian weapons over spells here, since the weapons usually add to your stat while the spells don't. |
Jun 19, 2018Thanks for your feedback SGPrometheus! Sorry for the late reply, other things than Arkham CG took priority in my life... I'm aware that I could probably not use Peter's healing very often, but his passive mods (especially when leveled up) is strong as well. Same with Holy Rosary - it's there in a non-contested spot to give a passive mod, helping Lola to survive the mythos phase. I'm not sure I understand how that's not a good thing..? As far as I understand passive mods are in effect even if I'm not in that role. As for weapons, the plan is Lupara, preferably used with Sleight of Hand to maximise the bonus, and possibly lvl 2 Switchblade, which seems crazy good and has Fast so I don't have to expose it before I really need it. With those four weapon cards I believe she will be quite the fighter, but it will require a hefty amount of XP... |
