The ideal upgrades are as follows: The Gold Pocket Watch for additional turns, The Skeleton Key to allow for dealing with impossible shroud values or allowing others to quickly assist in gathering, Ornate Bow as a weapon to deal with bosses or in situations where you are unguarded. Charisma is also a necessity to allow for using both Dr. Elli Horowitz and Dr. Milan Christopher.
