Hallowed Mirror is allowed with the collector, but ArkhamDB says no.
This is my stupid Hank smash deck for Children of Blood. All he does is hit stuff really hard and keeps the team healthy/sane enough to get the job done. He protects the team with ward of protection and a test of will. He pays for his items and the teams with schoffner's catalogue. He provides healing with hallowed mirror and bandages. He is awful at getting clues.
I built this deck for Children of Blood thinking that I would only get 10-12 xp from it before the 3rd scenario. I decided to use Ascetic, in the thick of it and the collector for max xp. This will give me a total of 16 xp to build my deck. I figured that none of these draw backs will effect me in such a short campaign. Hanks bonded form is not effected by trauma. I recommend to give 1 trauma to health and sanity. This will also allow you to use stouthearted first turn.
I would never use these cards expect for the collector in any campaign that is the normal 8 scenarios. The deck can also get another 5 xp if playing CoB on hard or expert. Making the total of 21 xp.
There are a lot of good cards that can be added with this much starting xp. I decided to use the upgraded sledgehammer as my main weapon. The other lvl 0 survivor weapons are just not worth putting into play. Samson 5 fight is enough to get the job done. The only other weapon that felt good was the pitchfork. 3 damage should be enough to deal with most non elite enemies. It also has the benefit of helping other investigators if they need a weapon. Lie in wait was to add some flexibility in dealing damage.
Horror was a major concern for the build, but I think that I over did it. Talisman of protection by passes the no healing restriction on bonded hank. Hollowed mirror and bandages will help keep no bonded Hank and the team topped off.
Miss Doyle was added for fun. Zeal is not as useful as the other cats, but she is a free pass when I don't want to risk the bag. Augur is the cat that does the most work with Hank. Makes it possible for him to get clues. I decided Daniel Jameson would be better for mitigating the auto fail on a 3 action sledgehammer attack.
Sparrow mask helps with encounter cards and some test, if you don't want to risk it, ward of protection and a test of will help. Lucky, unexpected courage and soul link should give you enough chances to pass tests. Hunting jacket was mainly for soak. I do not have anything to dump extra resources into expect for location cost or to off set encounter penalties.
Do-or-Die, scrouge for supplies and resourceful help with getting back cards when needed.
I am having a good time having the pitchfork and sledgehammer. Hank will probably never get a clue. I recommend that you hard mulligan for a weapon and spend the first turn drawing for one. Follow the other investigators who need support or stay at a central location. Resources at not a priority, make sure you have enough for a weapon. Everything else is used to pay for healing and soak when needed.
