Sources of Horror Healing

  • First Aid (personal or team)
  • Liquid Courage (personal or team)
  • Logical Reasoning (personal or team, conditional)
  • Inspiring Presence (personal or team, ally only)

Sources of Horror

  • Painkillers (mitigates your low health)
  • Ward Of Protection (counterspell)

Carolyn is likely to run rich so long as she can keep healing horror. Even if the encounter doesnt deal much horror damage, she generates her own sources of horror damage to heal. Peter while tempting to run on her because of forbidden knowledge isnt actually that good. Fights with Foolishness for an ally slot, and does not deal with her weakness. Moreover you want to replace Forbidden Knowledge with Ever Vigilant as a resource card. Charles Ross is probably a better ally option.

Mulligan: Look for assets and cache. Once you have Stick to the Plan this becomes even easier. Once you have Keen Eye, mag glass is less necessary

Replace Emergency Cache with Ever Vigilant (1) because she is asset reliant

Stick To the Plan (6) -Ever Vigilant, Shortcut, Dynamite Blast, Emergency Cache

Keen Eye (3)

Upgrade First Aid (3) x2 Upgrade 1 Shortcut to Pathfinder(1)

Upgrade 1 painkiller into bulletproof vest (3) Upgrade Delve Too Deep to Stand Together (3) x2

Upgrade Cache to Cache(3) for tokens Charisma(3)

I like the approach you are trying here, but you may want to take a slightly more restrained embrace of the "all in on healing cards". Here are a few things I would suggest revising.

1.) Allies. Even if you are all in on Foolishness, you probably want another ally or two. I would check out Charles Ross (if your group is running Yorrick, he can afford to juggle police badges with this set up), Venturer (to refill your medical supplies) or Something similar.

2.) If you are going all in on Foolishness, might as well make him Trusted so he can take a few hits and become a sanity sink. Actually, that might be an angle for making him useful as most of the big damage that really nasty enemies throw out is sanity. If you have something to shore up the health, you could maybe run a weird tank build.

3.)Try Fearless over Guts. Most of the "fail a sanity checks" in Carcosa and NOTZ just give you sanity damage, which you can take no problem. Fearless+ Liquid Courage can top off Foolishness in one action.

1) I did consider Charles Ross as a second ally, but I am also thinking of leaving the slot open for Brother Xavier later on. Will weigh it up.

2) I feel tanking damage is antithetical to what Foolishness is designed for. Foolishness is dark horse waiting to happen, and you want to keep him clean.

3) I dislike the basic version of Fearless because its a really weak card. Consider that Inspiring Presence does the exact same thing as clearing Foolishness instantly with Liquid Courage, and offers the additional option of healing damage or even healing the ally of another investigator. It's the same reason why I don't run Clarity of Mind. First Aid is strictly better.
