Ever since her release in the novella, I have dreamt of piloting Gloria in a full 4p campaign and going HARD on encounter deck control. Last weekend for our annual Arkham Ironman, I finally got to live the dream.

I played this Gloria through the Side A of the Dream Eaters campaign with my compatriots, and I'd be lying if I didn't say that Where the Gods Dwell wasn't 90% of the reason I put her on this side of the campaign. We needed some hard tech to go digging and set up for the many masks of Nyarlathotep, and this is what I came up with.

It's a pretty standard mystic deck all in all, but obviously the key cards here revolve around taking the teeth off of the encounter deck by taking away one of its biggest advantages; the element of surprise. Tossing the right cards to the right people with Scrying and First Watch is immensely powerful, and just a blast to do once you have a cursory knowledge of the campaign and its challenges. Throw in Gloria's ability to discard any card you look at, Ward of Protection, and Foresight, the encounter deck has few chances to squeak through any real haymakers during the mythos phase.

For anyone scratching their heads, Parallel Fates was on my shortest of short lists, if I hadn't been playing the WtGD tech On the Hunt, it would have had a very nice home here. As it stands though, aside from one game where I had a super slow start in finding my control cards, I never felt a lack of options, and the deck did exactly what it was meant to!
