Why pick card draw, money, actions, damage, clue finding, passing skill tests to focus on when you can do all of them. Well if you have money, so card draw and money are keys to making this deck work.

Opening hand:

I like to focus on cards that will either get me card draw or money. I focus on getting Leo, rabbits foot, watch this, all in, double or nothing, guts, manual dex, and overpower. Now the majority of your hand should be devoted to that, but having one asset to help with skill tests like well connected, high roller, grisly totem, fire ax, skeleton key, are all good ideas to keep as a way to not be completely useless until you get going on card draw and money.

Money:

"Money is so important, especially if you don't have it. Sorry this section has nothing to do with the game. I just want to shame you for being poor."- Preston with his pompous smirk.

Preston isn't wrong here. You are going to need money, either to throw at assets which add up to 32 resources, or throw it at streetwise, hard knocks, dig deep, and the high roller mistakes.

Make dat money. You are going to want to use watch this + double or nothing + high roller and ideally stroke of luck or against all odds as early as you can so that you can turn 6 money into 18.

Really make sure to bank money when you can, and don't waste it on skill tests you know you will fail, or can fail with minimal downsides.

Card draw:

I have multiple cards in here that help with card draw, but most notably is the big boy "All in." You add this with double or nothing and you can get yourself up to 10 cards. Which early game is a bit much before you have gotten out your assets, but also a good way to get them. Just try to plan which is better for you with what you currently have. Rabbits foot, guts, manual dex, and overpowered are great early game before you have all your assets down. Not only do you give you card draw (maybe) but they also help with saving you money that you would have to throw at streetwise, hard knocks, or high roller.

Combos:

Against all Odds, Watch this, All In, Double or Nothing, Quick Thinking, and Stroke of Luck all combo really well. If you are going to go balls to the wall, and combo double or nothing + quick thinking + watch this + all in + throwing 3 at high roller and really really don't want to loose then you should really have against all odds.

Assets:

Fire Axe - have this so that I can kill things with money. I like to think that he pays Leo or Peter to swing it for him.

Lantern - the - 1 shroud is nice especially if you are using the skeleton key. Then you are an automatic 1 up on any area. Impressive, I know.

Grisly Totem- I mean there are like 14 skill cards in this deck. Doubling them when needed is super nice.

Rabbit's Foot - mostly there to help when you fail.

Trench Coat - the +1 foot while evading and 2 health is super nice to have.

Leo - I mean who doesn't like an extra action. Really nice to be able to bank that 4 money you get.

Peter - He is there for horror soak that you will be causing yourself.

Dig Deep, Hard Knocks, High Roller, and Well connected - there to help you actually cover your 1 stats in every area.

Skeleton Key - great for finding clues, also amazing to use with double or nothing and lantern if you don't have against all odds to throw.

Charisma, Relic Hunter, and Streetwise all see pretty strait forward, and why not cards.

Other:

Winging it - just nice all around to help you get clues and save actions.

Stroke of Luck - Just nice to have in there if you don't have against all odds to rely on.
